Latest NewsDerby Preview | Hellewell excited ahead of another local derby on Saturday

August 15, 2019

Winterton Rangers make the short trip to local rivals Brigg Town on Saturday afternoon. Rangers manager, Scott Hellewell updates us with his match preview.

“After the last 3 performances Saturday can’t come quick enough, the confidence in the camp is sky high. The changing room after the Skegness win was a pleasure to be part of.

But we will stay grounded and as a management team we will make sure the lads don’t get complacent.

Saturday’s game will be a tough game as it’s another local derby against a team who will be looking to put one over us. It’s a club where me and Grimesy played most of our careers and where we started our management career so it will be nice to go back there even if we are in the opposition dug out. The club is on its way back up after a fair few bad years and I’m delighted they managed to get promoted last season, I have a lot of time for Thommo and Roachy as they are Brigg through and through and I really hope they have a good season.

But it’s strictly business on Saturday and we will be going there to get 3 points, we have a few unavailable but that means we can get minutes into others who have waited for there chance and it’s up to them to take that chance.

It should be a good gate and I hope we have plenty of Rangers fans making the short trip over.”
