Winterton Rangers...2
Brigg..........................0
What was a good game of football was not helped by the weather. The players fighting strong winds, and rain making life difficult on the pitch for all the players. Winterton took the decision to play into the wind in the first half, and considering the weather, the game could have gone either way. But it was Winterton who started, with a top draw goal from Wayne Mell. A super point perfect cross from Will Key was vollied on the turn from Wayne that no keeper would have seen, let alone stopped. Rangers continued to pile on the pressure, and Brigg coped with all thrown at them, but the wind was the winner and half time the score line remained at 1.0 to Rangers.
The start of the second half the wind dropped, and made the game more enjoyable for the players, and the supporters, who were all now starting to emerge from shelter. Again the game could have gone either way as both teams battled. Brigg pinned Rangers back at one point, with a mass of blue shirts in the goal mouth and a goal line clearance from Jacob Moore saving the Winterton blushes. Rangers replied with Wayne Mell being forced into the right hand corner and managing to get in cross only for the Brigg Keeper to fumble the ball over his line. This set the score line and Winterton emerged the winners 2.0 on the day
Next Game. Away, November 4th against Park Tigers Colts

Winterton Rangers…..2
Broughton Ravers.......6
This was the first time Winterton have played against the local boys from Broughton. Broughton have a good history of being a quality team, and made some very good signings to bollster the side.
Winterton Rangers were caught out at the very beginning from a strong Broughton side. A goal within the first two minuets from Broughton put the boys on the back foot. A further two quality goals from the visitors made life even more difficult.
Winterton are not a team that will lay down easily and got a reply from a fantasic free kick from Wayne Mell to make the score 1.3. This then lifted Winterton who began to fight back with more confidence, only to be caught out from a fast forward formation to make the score 1.4 at half time.
The second half was more evenly matched and Winterton battled for every ball, making Broughton aware that will not be taken for granted. Another goal for Winterton made the score line 2.4, and it was now Broughton that were on the back foot, defending deep and being under pressure. Both teams battled well, in a very well tempered game of football, but it was Broughton who were vicorious in the end with a 6.2 win.
Although the score line suggested an easy win, this was not the case, Winterton made a good account of themselves, and showed that they are well worthy of being in this division.

LSS Milan…………..1
Winterton Rangers…..3
Winterton Rangers proved to be a Team to not be ignored as they showed
LSS Milan passion, and desire to take all three points.
It was a first visit to Greenlands for Rangers, who took the lead in
the first half what was throughout, a team effort. LSS Milan gave a
good account of themselves, not making the game as easy as the score
line suggested. From the Kick Off, Rangers played defensively so as to
read how LSS played, and after 20 minutes changed tack and pushed
forward. From then on Rangers looked like they were the team to beat,
and not LSS who have a proven history as a good football team. At 90
minutes, goals from Jack Cade, James Kelly, Stan Mwamuka, and three
points in the bag, the boys came off the pitch shattered but
victorious.
Winterton Rangers have taken their first year in the first division in
their stride and now relish each game, and as each game comes along
they get better.
Next Game, at Home, October 21st against Broughton
Sunday 16th September.
Winterton Rangers Under 16s Premier League Team set off to a good
start to the 2007/2008 campaign with a 5.0 Win at Messingham.
What was a very windy day, Winterton commanded the game throughout, and from the first goal, messingham struggled to break through a strong
midfield and defence.
Messingham provided only two shots on target
which were saved comfortably by Danny Atkin. All the Team gelled in
style with some superb passing and never looked threatened.
Jack Cade came out on top with Four Goals with Ashley Hickson
providing his first goal in Rangers colours.
