Winterton Rangers moved back into the top four and kept their very faint promotion hopes alive thanks to a solitary Liam Nelthorpe goal against Skegness Town at West Street yesterday afternoon.
Rangers Manager Scott Hellewell described the game as “Possibly one of the worst games I’ve ever watched, but we managed to scrape a win.”
“They were the best team in the first-half” he continued, “but we scored from a set piece which was pleasing as our delivery recently has been class. In the second half we missed a couple of opportunities but the game was so scrappy. Defensively we were fine, like we have been most of the season, so a clean sheet is definitely a plus, and that’s three clean sheets in four games now. It’s the other end where we need to be more clinical and brave. We need to play better than that on Wednesday night (away at 5th placed Nostell) or we could be in for a long night.”
