Winterton Rangers Manager Scott Hellewell is determined to fight on until the very end of the season in our hunt for promotion from the NCEL Division 1.
”It was a poor performance, the conditions were horrific and they adapted to it better. First half with the wind, we took an early lead then did nothing and to make matters worse, we went down to ten men, so the second half was always going to be tough with a man down and playing against the wind. I thought we had ground out a point but then a lapse in concentration and they score in the 90th minute.
“Gutted is an understatement but what’s killed us today is the first 40 minutes when we didn’t keep the ball or anything. We have got to roll our sleeves up now for the last eight games and we probably have to win all eight to have a chance of promotion. It’s a tough ask but we will keep going until the end.”
With games coming up in the next month against fellow contenders Nostell, Campion and Hallam, it looks like it will be an exciting end to the season for Rangers.
