Latest NewsMatch Preview | AFC Emley vs Winterton Rangers

March 9, 2019

Saturday 9th March 2019: 15:00 Kick Off at Fantastic Media Welfare Ground

After two good home wins, today sees Rangers back on the road with a trip the high altitude fixture at AFC Emley.  Last season’s game in freezing and wet conditions saw Emley take an early lead after 3 minutes, and Rangers trying in vain to get the equaliser on a very wet and lumpy pitch.

This is the first meeting this season, with the sometimes odd fixture list see us first playing them in March, then playing them at home in the penultimate game in April.

Emley have had a tough recent fixture list, playing Hallam twice, Selby, Campion over the last 5 games, which has seen them only pick up the one win against Harworth Colliery.

With Rangers front men Noel Burdett and Luke Anderson scoring in each of the last two home games, and with the impressive Tyla Bell and wily Paul Grimes on the bench, Rangers have lots of attacking options.

Other games of note this weekend in the NCEL Division One are: Campion vs Harworth (pending pitch inspection), Hallam vs Swallowest and Skegness vs Nostell.  The league leaders, Grimsby Borough have a weekend off, as their rivals pile on the pressure by playing the games in hand.
