Latest NewsMatch Preview | Nostell MW vs Winterton Rangers

March 15, 2019

Saturday 16th March 2019: 15:00 Kick Off at The Welfare Ground, Crofton Community Centre WF4 1LB

Last Saturday’s game on top of Emley moor in awful weather is in the books. Ranger’s can take encouragement in the second half performance that saw every Ranger’s player to a man run their heart out, with ten men, uphill and against the wind they were very unlucky not to hold out. An offside goal, and a lucky bounce giving Emley the points. We go again.

This Saturday it is off to the black and yellow’s home ground for the fixture versus Nostell. For the Ranger’s fans braving the trip, they are rewarded with a friendly welcome at the lively social club, atop a large bank above the pitch.

With Luke Anderson suspended, it will be interesting to see if the gaffer goes with Tyla Bell, who scored a brace the last time the two sides met in the home fixture in late December.  No one will be more gutted than Luke with the large ban that will see him miss the majority of the season’s remaining fixtures. Luke has been one of the standout players for Rangers this season, and his pace, energy and finishing skill has posed problems for every team Rangers have faced. With Paul Grimes, Tyla Bell and Noel Burdett, Rangers still have plenty of talent to pose some problems for Nostell.

After spending most of last season near the foot of the table, Nostell have been free scoring and spent most of this season in the top 3. After following Ranger’s for the past 3 seasons, I truly believe this Rangers side is the best I have seen, not only for the quality of the players, but also the organisation and team spirit. Saturday’s 3rd vs 5th place fixture will be an opportunity for Rangers to show their metal as we enter the business end of the season.
