Winterton Rangers scraped home to a 1-0 win over Skegness Town thanks to a first half goal from Liam Nelthorpe.
It certainly wasn’t the most eye catching performance and won’t be remembered as a classic in the record books but it was 3 points and a clean sheet heading into the final three fixtures of the season.
Again another increasing attendance figure of 125 was present at West Street and with just 1 final home game remaining next Saturday afternoon it would be great to finish the season with a large crowd to reward the efforts of all the squad this season.
We needed a response after last Tuesday’s nights disappointing result at Hallam FC as Scott Hellewell kept the same team on the pitch. It was clear that the match would eventually turn into a scrappy battle with the referees whistle constantly being blown and stopping the game from flowing, the longer it went on it was a case of holding onto the 1 goal lead, clean sheet and 3 points.
Rangers head into Wednesday night’s match away at Nostell Miners Welfare in a battle of who will finish in the top 4 places.
