After the break Radcliffe pulled the score back to 2-2 before Julie Ford put Rangers back in front to make it 3-2. Radcliffe equalised with 10 minute to go and scored the winner in the dieing minutes.
A great game to watch and the Winterton girls performed superbly against a team from 2 leagues above them.

Lincolnshire League Winterton Rangers Ladies v Bottesford

Match cancelled due to Bottesford only having 6 players

Winterton Rangers u14 girl’s season began on a bright sunny Sunday morning in September playing host to this seasons championship favourites Scunthorpe united.
A distinct lack of pre season games for Winterton  showed as what can only be described as a lack lustre display by them followed ,with Scunthorpe coming away with a deserved 6-1 win although Winterton raised their game in the second half on this particular day it was never going to be enough against a very organised enthusiastic Scunthorpe side. Winterton’s only goal on 65mins came from ex Scunthorpe player Kayleigh Woodcock.

Winterton Rangers U14   2 v 0 Healing Hotspurs

Sun 16th September  ko 10,30

After a disappointing start to the season the previous week against Scunthorpe United Winterton were looking to put things right in another home tie this time against Healing Hotspurs .on what was a very windy day Winterton opted to play with the wind at their backs in the first half which appeared to be paying off as they piled the pressure on the Healing defence .just as it looked as if  they had weathered the storm five minutes from half time Winterton were rewarded when a fine pass from Rosie Fawcett found Kayleigh Woodcock who cleverly lobbed the Healing goalkeeper,
Half time
Winterton 1  Healing  0

Healing came out fighting in the second half with the wind at their backs confident they could turn things around, but the Winterton defence re shuffled and coped well against the strong wind other than two efforts coming close Lauren Baster and Rosie Clayphan cleaned every thing that came at them.Winterton started to take command keeping the ball on the floor and as the game started to slip away from Healing Ellie bird popped up with a second goal for Winterton doubling their lead and effectively killing off the game ensuring Rangers first win of the season.

Sleaford United 0 Winterton Rangers 4

After getting stuck in traffic and lost in Sleaford, the Rangers team eventually arrived at Sleaford United’s ground where they came away with a good victory against Sleaford a new side for the Lincolnshire league this season. Rangers weren’t at their best but came away with all 3 points.
Goals from Alisa Williamson 2, Emma Jones 1 and Carina Middleton 1

Winterton Rangers 7 v 0 Brigg Town

A nice bright sunny Sunday morning saw the under 14 girls entertain Brigg Town.Winterton looking to continue their good form going into this game after a 3-1 win over Bottesford town away the previous Tuesday night. Things looked promising from the off as Winterton piled on the pressure going close after only 2 minutes from inform striker Kayleigh Woodcock ,cutting in from the right releasing a low powerful shot only to see it strike the foot of the near post and away for a goal kick. This was closely followed by a speculative effort from the half way line by Lauren Baster which bounced in front of the Brigg keeper and over the bar. It wasn’t long before Lauren opened the scoring with a left footed volley following two rebounded efforts Winterton 1-0 .Winterton added to their tally before the break with a goal from Kayleigh Woodcock to take them into the break a comfortable 2-0 up.

The second half continued much in the same vein as the first half with Winterton passing the ball well and opening up a packed Brigg defence on several 0ccasions, .Ten minutes into the second half Rosie Fawcett netted Winterton’s 3rd goal and as the Brigg heads began to fall more opportunities followed with Megan Walters converting her first goal of the season and Winterton’s 4th of the game on 18 mins .Winterton continued to force there way past a now tired and ragged Brigg defence and to add to Briggs problems they had to replace one of their players who had  what looked to be a broken wrist .Winterton substitute Bethany Turtle came on from the bench for her second spell of the game and netted two goals in quick succession only then to turn provider for Kayleigh Woodcock who wrapped up the scoring in the dying minutes to make the final score 7-0 .

A good all round performance from the Winterton girls who all gave 110%.
